Christmas Gift Guide 2019 – The Ultimate Guide [AD]

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, right? When I was younger I was never the biggest fan of Christmas, but now I’m getting older, have my own little house to decorate and can afford to buy my friends and family some lovely gifts – lets just say, I’m a fan now. I love sitting down and thinking about my loved ones favourite things and coming up with ideas as to what they’ll enjoy the most. I love trying to think of unique ways of telling my loved ones that I care about them and I truly believe that buying gifts for other people is one of the most satisfying things. I sat down and have come up with some lovely gifts that you could buy for your loved ones. I’ve tried to include a whole range of different products and items, such luxury, some bargain – hopefully something for everyone. I have included affiliate links with some of the products but as always, they’re only products that I personally love and would buy or have already bought myself. Lo and behold, my Christmas gift guide 2019.

Christmas Gifts for Her

I’m a big fan of Etsy and buying from independent sellers where I can. I know I could be a lot better at doing this, but I’m definitely doing my best to improve. I know we’re all doing our best to be more ethically aware and conscious of our plastic consumption so a gift like this gorgeous tote from Lydia’s Etsy shop is the perfect buy for someone who’s careful not to have to buy single use plastic carrier bags. I bought this one for my mum for her Mother’s Day present this year and she uses it to carry her shopping from our local shop. It’s incredibly long-lasting and adds a thoughtful element to a traditional reusable tote bag. I’d also say it’s the perfect gift for any teachers or teaching assistants – speaking from experience, you can fit a class set of books in them with no strain on the straps. If you’re after buying a bag for your loved ones – it’s safe to say that tiny bags are all the rage at the moment. Topshop have 20% off bags at the moment and this teeny mustard yellow one is definitely taking my fancy. I’m starting to think about 2020 and summer holidays and let’s be honest – no summer holiday is complete without the perfect pair of sunglasses – I’ve featured this stunning pair from Theia London. I wore them to death last summer and I’m sure I’ll be doing the same this year too.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks | Christmas Gift Guide 2019

For the more luxurious beauty lovers, Charlotte Tilbury is definitely the one. I treated myself to some gorgeous Mini Hot Lips Charms for a belated birthday present and they are the perfect ‘mini’ gift for someone wanting to give the brand a go – the lipsticks themselves are quite small but they’re the perfect way of trying out the shades without committing to the full sized costs. I’ve been eyeing up the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette of Pops as well and it’s definitely on my own Christmas list (although maybe slightly too expensive for Father Christmas this time around!)

Stocking Filler Christmas Gifts (and a few for him.)

Who looks forward to their stocking the most of all their gifts? I love picking little titbits for my loved ones and this year has been absolutely no exception. I’ve never really looked at Primark for beauty products before but the last couple of months I’ve read so many great reviews so I was tempted by a few of their bits and bobs – I picked up the PS… Liquid Matte (The Miami Effect) liquid lipsticks for FOUR POUNDS – they’re an almost dupe for the Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks for an absolute fraction of the price. I also love stocking up (pun fully intended) on eyelashes around Christmas – you can never have too many sets of fake lashes can you, really? I absolutely love these Ardell Professional ones – they’re faux mink lashes so look absolutely stunning on – the perfect Christmas Day accompaniment! I can’t wait to whack a pair on on Christmas Day and Boxing Day as we visit family and do gift exchanges.

Men are hard to buy for, aren’t they? As well as having amazing stocking fillers from the beauty section, they have some fantastic small gifts for him as well. I absolutely love this Grumpy mug and soft gift set – and they had plenty of other characters to choose from if Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs isn’t your thing! Couple it with some fancy hot chocolate and you’ve got yourself the perfect gift – I love the Whittards Luxury Hot Chocolate; this one comes with milk and white hot chocolate powders, and enough marshmallows to see you through the new year in fancy hot choccies!

Christmas Gifts for the Home

The White Company | Hollie in Wanderlust 2019 Christmas Gift Guide

Some people are hard to buy for – particularly if they’re not really into beauty or fashion and you find your gift options that little bit more difficult. Irrespective of your budget, you can find some absolutely stunning Christmas gifts that are for the home. I’m not just talking about fancy candles (although with me especially, they’re a win). If you have a candle lover amongst you and you want to give them an extra special treat this Christmas then honestly, the The White Company candles are your best bet. They smell incredible and are very long lasting – I was gifted this rhubarb one for my birthday and it’s absolutely stunning. If you’re more of a reed diffuser lover then their gift set also has you covered – 4 mini diffusers of their most popular scents for £40, meaning you can spread the cost across multiple rooms and your entire house will smell delicious.

Prints for the Home | Christmas Gift Guide 2019

I have a lot of prints around my house – some that I’ve bought recently for this house and then others that we’ve had in our previous home but loved so much that we kept hold of them. I love discovering new artists and spending time choosing prints for certain areas in my home. I’m in the process of doing up my office space at the moment and I’m yet to purchase my new prints for the space I’ve got. That said, there are more than a few that I have in mind. This stunning Hiding Kunstdruck print is top of my wish list at the moment – I absolutely love the colours of it and think it would absolutely gorgeous paired with my office chair of dreams. Another artist whose colourful prints I absolutely adore at the moment are those created by Tore (known as Atinymew on twitter.) I particularly love her Pokemon prints.

Christmas Gifts for the Reader

Daphne du Maurier Print | Hollie in Wanderlust Christmas Gift Guide 2019

Aside from the obvious book vouchers, buying for a book lover doesn’t have to be difficult at all. One print that I have already purchased for our home and absolutely LOVE is this stunning Daphne du Maurier print – I absolutely love her as a writer and thought that this print was both whimsical and expertly showing of my love of literature. West and General is local to us in Leeds (the shop is based in Bradford) and has dozens of gorgeous literature themed prints, enamel pins and stickers.

Harry Potter Illustrated Edition | Hollie in Wanderlust Gift Guide

Harry Potter lovers, unite? I’ve been buying the illustrated Harry Potter books since they’ve started being released – I envision myself reading them to my children in the future and the pictures will only add to that amazing experience. I’ve also got my gorgeous Rapunzel bookmark that I bought from Etsy seller Beyond The Pages a few years ago. I love these Harry Potter inspired ones as well.

Something that’s on my own Christmas list is a book burrow – a cloth bag that protects your book from getting damaged in your bag. I’m the kind of person who just whizzes their book in their bag and then complain when it gets bent/covered in crumbs/wet so these are definitely a good investment for book lovers alike.

Christmas Gifts for Someone Who Has EVERYTHING/Is Incredibly Awkward

Christmas Gifts For Those Who Have Everything | Hollie in Wanderlust's 2019 Gift Guide

There’s always one family member who is impossible to buy for – in my household, it’s probably Richard (although he falls into the incredibly awkward category). Who doesn’t love tea? Whittards of Chelsea do amazing advent calendars – this tea advent calendar is my idea of a good time (and I’m sure the vast majority of the United Kingdom would agree with me on that one!) If coffee is more their scene, then a Christmas Coffee subscription is the perfect gift. Union Hand Roasted Coffee have different types of gift available, depending on the type of coffee lover you have in your midsts – no one’s going to turn down some lovely fancy new coffee, are they? Probably one of my favourite additions to the Christmas gift guide 2019 edition!

I absolutely love personalised gifts – this stunning print from My Mini Fam is right up my street and can be personalised exactly to match your family. Incredibly affordable and independent – meaning you’re helping someone else have a fantastic Christmas whilst treating a loved one to an extra special, thoughtful gift.
